TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Richard Kotrč
The aim of the project was to empower young people to make informed and meaningful career decisions, leading to greater satisfaction and fulfilment in their professional lives. The objectives of the project are the
following:
- to assist participants in identifying their strengths, core values and interests
- to help participants prepare for future job interviews
- to offer practical training on writing effective resumes and cover letters
- to improve participants‘ communication skills, including verbal and non-verbal communication and active listening
- to enhance participants' ability to work effectively in teams
- to introduce the basics of design thinking methodology enabling participants to approach problem-solving creatively.
Group leaders and participants came from 4 countries - Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Czechia.
We used a wide range of non-formal and experiential learning methods, including:
- Creative career counselling tools (e.g. timeline work, role models, vision boards)
- Storytelling and personal sharing
- Guided reflection in nature and solo time
- Group dialogue and peer coaching
- Drama and embodiment exercises to explore roles and identities
- Artistic expression (collage, drawing, metaphor work)
- Daily reflection circles and journaling
- Intercultural evenings and team-building activities
All sessions were designed to be inclusive, participatory, and responsive to the needs of the group.
Participants reported increased confidence in their career direction, a deeper understanding of their own values, and new perspectives from peers across cultures. Many described the program as a transformative experience that helped them feel less alone in their uncertainties.
The program also strengthened the capacity of the partner organisations to run meaningful youth activities on the topic of employability and well-being.
Photos and documentation of the project are available on our social media and upon request.
I worked as a full-time facilitator throughout the preparation, implementation, and evaluation phases of the exchange. My responsibilities included:

- Leading daily sessions and reflective activities
- Holding group processes and creating a safe learning environment
- Supporting intercultural dialogue and inclusion
- Facilitating evaluation and follow-up planning
I also contributed to the preparation meetings with partner organisations and participants, and co-led the final documentation of the project.
