point that conflicts are opportunities for learning
and positive change.
More specifically,

values of conflict: prevention, resolution,
management and transformation.

the different ways to deal with it.
-To develop skills in mediation and facilitation
for conflict resolution.
- To manage concepts of intercultural
communication.
- To promote a constructive debate where
participants will have the opportunity to
share their views freely thanks to a peer to
peer approach.
- To bring the participants to an active
reflection on the topic through non formal
education activities and experiential learning.
- To promote mutual understanding among
the participants by encouraging them to
approach intercultural dialogue with
tolerance and open-minded attitude.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

They were 20 participants involved: 9 men and 11 women representing 11 nationalities .
The Team was of 2 trainers, 2 women from 2 different nationalities.

Training methods used & main activities

The training methodology relied on non-formal education and theatre of the oppressed, creative an collective tools to deal with conflicts. The different workshops were built around the needs and knowledge of the participants.
In order to ensure participants attention, our efforts focused on creative and innovative presentations.
Therefore, the trainers used methods such as mind-mapping, simulations, real life situations or photolanguage methodology, etc.
These participatory and innovative methods allowed to create real dynamics based on confidence and respect among participants. This methodology also permitted to deal with the thematic in plenary with due regard to personal approaches and situations.

Outcomes of the activity

The evaluation of the training was very positive: all of the participants expressed that they felt more confident in tackling the conflict situations that they will face and that the training allowed them to take a step back from their approach and reflect on it.
Furthermore they insist on the need for a longer term edition, in order to deepen the knowledge and skills, and most of the partner organisations are partner in the longer course we are preparing for 2018-2019
