Aims & objectives

By applying the method, based on the principles of the methodology of non-formal education we wanted, together with our partners, to analyze our work as street workers, to share past experience, best practices, develop new ideas to work with excluded youth and tie the thread of understanding for future joint projects and work their outlines, mainly in order to:
- Inclusion of excluded young people back into society.
- Eliminate or reduce the problem of early school leaving by young people in our local communities
- Support to unemployed youth from disadvantaged areas and threatened by social exclusion,
- Encourage young people (mostly without a job) to participate in the program as an opportunity to gain new competencies and skills to a better start in the labor market;

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Latvia, Romania, Italy, Poland (6 participants per country) In total 24 participants. The participants in our project: people every day working with young people with fewer opportunities to disadvantaged areas as street workers (those more experienced, and those who start only his work), but also as volunteers, a total of 26 people. Due to the fact that all organizations were working in one area, we planed to invite people who had diverse experience, knowledge and skills, which not only diversify our work, but also raise its level. We believe that learning from each other and sharing experiences, both the more and less and look at the problem from different perspectives is the most effective type of work.
Our participants were chosen mostly, taking into account their needs, which is acquiring new knowledge, develop existing skills in the sphere of street based work and working with young people with fewer opportunities, but also the commitment and motivation for action and cooperation.

Outcomes of the activity

The main beneficiaries were our participants who, through our enterprise integrated with each other, loaned thread of understanding, gained new experience, skills and qualifications, as well as broaden their existing knowledge of street and working with young people at risk of social exclusion. Through our activities, we influenced the participants, but also for partner organizations, so that we developed new solutions and ways of working with young people, which were implemented in local communities. In addition, participant created a common initiatives for young people excluded. Because of that, all of us working with young people excluded and difficult, the skills and qualifications will affect in a positive way to their work with them and will increase its quality. In addition, we expect that our participants communicate further new knowledge to their colleagues, motivating and mobilizing action to increase their competence.
