Aims & objectives

"Back to Basics" was the second activity of the cycle "Plan B - Strengthening the Resilience of Youth Organizations" which aimed to prepare youth workers, educators, coordinators, managers of youth organizations to develop resilience strategies in terms of organizational and people management with a focus on supporting beneficiaries in the times of crisis.

Objectives were:
- To empower participating organizations’ core teams to foster the development of resilience related skills and attitudes through informal and experiential learning in outdoors settings
-To simulate learning by doing experience in a safe environment where young individuals will take responsibility for their own actions, learn how to overcome challenges, individually and in teams while discussing about different aspects of organizational work
-To enhance the sense of community and peer-to-peer cooperation and the awareness of importance of social cooperation for the creation of better and more inclusive communities

Outcomes of the activity

Participants have learned about a series of mechanisms for ensuring sustainability of their projects’ outcomes and achieved impact. They also have understood how sustainable practices contribute to resilience, and both are the ultimate goals of a ‘healthy’ organization. Through introducing the strategic planning cycle, the participants have learned how to set their mission, vision and core values.

Participants have learned to create communication and outreach plans in order to make them more efficient and creative when working with young people and overall communities at local level.

Participants have learned about the importance of social cooperation for the creation of better and more inclusive communities. Through sessions related to stress management and managing feelings the participants have learned how to make their teams more resilient in the post COVID time.
