TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

The overall aim of this training programme was to build capacities inside SCI Asia (Service Civil International).
The training course was focused on developing practical skills and to raise the level of
motivation of the activists send by the ASIAN branches.
As objectives we wished that after the training, participants to be able:
- to apply the mission and philosophy of SCI in their activities (and in their
daily life)
- to plan, implement and evaluate projects (management tools included)
- to write financial proposals
- to make fundraising planing
- to take long term commitments along with SCI;
- to motivate other volunteer from their branches to involve in SCI ;
The group was made from 20 representatives of SCI branches from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Japan, Malaysia and Mauritius.
The methodology of the training course included:
- non-formal methods, focused on developing practical skills by experiential learning
- study cases
- thinking games
- discussion in the big group
As an immediate outcome, the groups divided based on their region design and plan a 3 month action plan for their region focused on some key issues. The regional coordinator took responsability to follow the implementation of the projects.
My role was of the Full Trainer during programe:
- make the organization and participants need analize
- desing the concept and program of the training
- asses the involvement and the motivation of the participants
- deliver training activities and sessions (focused on project management, action plan and team building)
- consult and decide about methodology with the facilitators assigned for specific topics
- conduct the evaluation of the training
- create the final report
