TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

The project, having a systemic approach, was composed of 3 different training activities, each of them focus on a different target role of those involved in mobility projects with an inclusive approach for young people with intellectual disabilities.
This second training had the main objective of develop specific competences on mentors, tutors, facilitators and trainers to make sure that the learning processes they design are based on inclusion and accessibility from the beginning, taking into consideration individual needs of participants and how to support them on their learning process.
The TC involves 29 youth workers, under specific roles of mentors, tutors, facilitators and trainers, who support the learning process of participants with intellectual disabilities in mobility projects (ESC, youth exchanges, and so on), from Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Hungary, Portugal, Sweden, Greece, Malta, Austria and Latvia.
One of the main methods used was the co-planning, involving participants on the design of the programme and its facilitation on daily basis, giving the opportunity to focus on their own learning needs to make sure that the training experience was a successful as possible.
Moreover, part of the programme was facilitated by the trainers, using different methods for team building, understanding individuals' and others' needs, reflection on the learning process, etc.
Participants developed competences as youth workers to support their work with people with intellectual disabilities regarding design of non-exclusive activities, meaningful communication with others, cooperation and mutual understanding.
