Advertising the Change

The training activity took place
in Tereny, Hungary
organised by ReCreativity
19-29 March 2015

Aims & objectives

Youth workers face several challenges, one is to reach a wider and wider audience and another is to increase their knowledge of working methods and tools. To address this needs, together with ReCreativity, we created this program to give participants the competences to use creative recycling in their activities and increase the visibility of those through media.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

There were 42 participants from ? countries:
Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ireland and Romania.

Training methods used & main activities

While the trainers from ReCreativity took care of the creative recycling activities, I implemented the ones related to Media, Photography and Video-Making. The activities where based on the "learning by doing" method, the can be done alone or in small international groups. After a short lecture where participants get the basic knowledge about photography, they go practise what they learned, every time we build on it, adding always new knowledge and going deeper into participants's values and emotion. After the shooting there is a feedback session where to discuss together what we learned and how we can improve our visual products.

Outcomes of the activity

The participants organized several creative recycling workshops in a local elementary school. After that there was a projection in the cinema where they showed to the local public the audio-visual products created during the training. Here (https://vimeo.com/126579642) you can find a video realized by me that summarize the days spent together.
