Aims & objectives

Provide basic knowledge for youth workers to implement non-formal educational methodologies and experiential learning when working with learning groups

24 youth workers and facilitators coming from Italy, Cyprus, Serbia, Greece, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine

Training methods used & main activities

The main methodological approach of the training was based on non‐formal education and learning, both individual and group methods, taking into consideration participants’ learning needs with a creative approach. A relevant time and space of the training was created together with the participants, in order to give them the opportunity to design and practice workshops, activities, methods, tools.

Outcomes of the activity

During 6 training days participants had:
- created 4 workshops in international teams based on non-formal educational methods and implemented them with the international group of participants in a duration of 1.30h;
-been introduced with the approaches of experiential, experimental and intercultural learning and possibilities to adapt it to their local contexts and realities;
-reflected about the importance of cultural diversity when organizing international youth projects;
-received information about existing possibilities and conditions for the development of European youth co-operation projects, with special focus on the Erasmus + Programme;
-exchanged best practices on non-formal education when working within multicultural groups;
-developed an informal network of youth workers and youth leaders from Europe and Euromed countries.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I had a role of a trainer, meaning that I was responsible for design, implementation and evaluation of the training program. The training program was reviewed and evaluated every day and adjusted according to the learning needs of participants.
