TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
http://trainers.salto-youth.net/NourAlothman/
First of all, I love my job. I design learning spaces where voices grow stronger and connections feel natural. As a social worker and youth trainer, I work with young people on topics such as identity, inclusion and participation. I facilitate leadership and project management trainings, lead public awareness activities, and aim to raise awareness and give young people tools to take an active role in society. My goal is to create safe spaces where people feel seen, heard and empowered.
Nour Alothman has 3 references for past work as a trainer.
Free lance facilitator in non-formal (political) education
Over the past years, I have been actively involved in international and local youth work, non-formal (political) education, and trainer qualification programmes. My recent work includes the design and facilitation of workshops and training courses for young people, youth workers, and volunteers on topics such as participation, discrimination and racism, empowerment, safer spaces, and inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities.
Another part of my activity is connected to JuLeiCa trainings and similar youth leader qualification programmes, where I have worked as a trainer on group facilitation, democratic leadership, conflict-sensitive communication, safeguarding, and basic project management. In these settings, I support participants in developing both their pedagogical competences and their ability to plan and implement youth projects.
I have also been involved in international cooperation projects and Erasmus+ youth initiatives, contributing to the planning, coordination, and delivery of educational activities in multicultural contexts. These projects focus on mobility, participation, and equal access to international youth work, especially for young people facing discrimination or structural barriers.
I plan to further expand my work as a freelance trainer and facilitator, offering seminars, workshops, and training courses in the fields of non-formal political education, youth participation, anti-racism, empowerment, and project work in youth contexts. I am particularly interested in continuing to work in international training courses, youth exchanges, and capacity-building activities within the Erasmus+ and European youth work framework.
I am a qualified social worker, and my formal education has provided me with a strong foundation in social pedagogy, youth development, group work, and social justice–oriented practice. This background shapes my understanding of power relations, discrimination, participation, and safeguarding, which are central to my work as a trainer in non-formal (political) education.
Alongside my formal studies, my professional development has been strongly influenced by non-formal learning processes. I have participated in and facilitated BAFA-JuLeiCa trainings, international youth exchanges, and Erasmus+ projects, which allowed me to experience non-formal education both as a learner and as a trainer. These settings helped me understand how participatory methods, experiential learning, and peer-to-peer approaches can create deep and sustainable learning processes.
My own migration experience and long-term involvement in international youth work have further shaped my educational path. Learning in multicultural and intercultural environments taught me the importance of safer spaces, critical reflection, and empowerment, especially for young people facing structural barriers.
These formal and non-formal educational experiences are important to me because they enable me to connect theory with practice and to support young people and youth workers in developing not only skills, but also critical awareness, confidence, and the ability to actively shape their social realities.
