Training activity for the acquisition of social and civic competences through simulation of the establishment of a voluntary organization.

Aims of the tool

Promoting volunteering.

Description of the tool

1) Brainstorming on the concept of "Volunteer" (5 minutes).
2) Definition of the word "Association" and introduction of the Article 15 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (5 minutes).
3) Ask participants to choose one of the following areas: Environment, Health, Culture, Civil Rights (2 minutes). Be sure at least two people, and not more than six, we have chosen an area. In the event that an area has been selected by a single participant, offer him the opportunity to explain his choice (maximum 2 minutes) and convince someone of the other participants to join his group. In the event that no one is join his group, ask him to choose another area (5 minutes).
4) Ask each group to discuss and identify a problem related to the chosen area (5 minutes).
5) Ask each group to democratically identify a representative person who will explain to all participants the identified problem (2 minutes).
6) Allow any representative person identified by the groups to present the issue, providing an opportunity for participants to be able to make suggestions (5 minutes per representative for up to 30 minutes).
8) Ask each group to discuss and identify three tangible actions that can be carried out directly by the group members for the solution of the identified problem (5 minutes).
9) Ask each group to democratically identify a representative person, different from the previous, outlining the actions identified (2 minutes).
10) Allow any representative identified by the groups to present actions, by offering an opportunity for participants to be able to make suggestions (5 minutes per representative for up to 30 minutes).
11) Ask each group to identify a name for the Association (5 minutes).
12) Ask each group to identify a person, different from the previous two that will write the report of the activity (2 minutes).
13) Start the dictation of the report of the Voluntary Association Constitutive Act, as attached (10 minutes).
14) Group Reflection (20 minutes)
