A nature-based toolbox of non-formal learning activities integrating sustainability, embodiment, emotional resilience, and creativity. Designed to support youth workers and educators navigating ecological and personal transformation with young people.

Aims of the tool

1. To support youth workers in integrating sustainability and well-being into their educational practices
2. To explore nature-based and somatic practices as tools for intra- and interpersonal transformation
3. To empower creative, embodied, and ecological approaches in youth work
4. To foster emotional awareness, connection, and self-expression among young people

Description of the tool

The Waves of Wonders - Toolbox of Green Minds and Daring Souls is a collection of experiential activities rooted in non-formal education, nature connection, and personal development. It was created during the Erasmus+ Training Course Waves of Wonders (March 2025, Velké Pavlovice, CZ) which gathered 25 participants from 7 countries. The toolbox invites facilitators, educators, and youth workers to integrate eco-consciousness, somatic practices, creativity, and mental health awareness into their work with young people.
The booklet offers non-formal education and experiential learning activities in 5 thematic categories:
1. The Way We Flow Together – icebreakers and team building activities to build connection, trust, and playful group dynamics
2. Mind your Nature – nature-based mindfulness, sensory exploration, and reflection
3. Somatic Practices – movement and body-based techniques for grounding and self-regulation
4. Poetry as Hidden Language – expressive writing and emotional storytelling
5. Self-Care DIY – hands-on creation of eco-friendly wellness products
The Toolbox reflects the project’s aim: to inspire soulful leadership, support personal and ecological sustainability, and nurture inner and outer transformation. It is both a practical guide and an invitation to bring more connection, presence, and meaning into youth work.
