This toolkit provides a comprehensive overview of volunteering in youth work, using debate as a key non-formal learning method. It combines theory, European policy frameworks, and practical guidance on volunteer roles, management cycles, training, supervision, and evaluation.
The tool supports youth workers, trainers, and organisations in understanding how volunteering contributes to personal development, social inclusion, active citizenship, and competence-building among young people. It also highlights Youthpass, European Youth Goals, and ethical principles in youth work.
Learning outcomes include:
Understanding different types of volunteering and volunteer roles
Ability to plan and manage volunteer programs in youth work
Improved use of non-formal learning methods
