Manual
The guidelines will provide practical guidance to organisations and institutions active in youth work and youth workers/trainers regarding the productive integration of the “STREAM Entrepreneurship” approach in their activities/programmes and daily work.
The guidelines aim to constitute a “manual” for organisations and institutions active in youth work and youth workers/trainers to refer to throughout their continual efforts to promote and develop the entrepreneurial mindset among youth using the STREAM entrepreneurship approach.
These guidelines address providers of extracurricular educational work, and those who want to become one, e.g., a newly established Maker Space and a completely new focus, namely STEM in educational work. Each chapter deals with its own focus, is self-contained and the respective author is also responsible for the content.
CHAPTER 1 provides good arguments for the urgency of STEM education work. Here you will read a basic explanation of STEM/STEAM/STREAM, and learn about the relevance of this educational focus for the later career choices of young people and the situation in Europe.
CHAPTER 2 introduces you to STREAM as a pedagogical approach and explains the interplay between STREAM and entrepreneurship. In this context, the chapter also goes into the EntreComp competence framework and shows the link with STEM employment competencies.
CHAPTER 3 shows successful methodological approaches for the design of STREAMpreneur-related learning activities and gives concrete tips for their design.
CHAPTER 4 emphasises the holistic, integrated approach as the starting point for pedagogical implementation. It provides ten concrete tips for practical implementation, such as promoting creativity, integrating educational videos, hands-on experience, and much more.
CHAPTER 5 provides guidance to educational staff on evaluating educational activities and programmes in their institution or organisation. It discusses ethical challenges, functions of an evaluation, the advantages and disadvantages of external or internal evaluation, etc.
CHAPTER 6 takes a look at the "big picture". It emphasises that sustainability and green education need to be considered in developing the STREAMpreneurship approach to fully equip young people with the necessary skills for the 21st century.
