The goal of this Plarform is to provides the users with the knowledge and skills necessary to modernize existing machinery in order to make them "intelligent" and more suited to today's manufacturing industry needs: flexibility , friendly interfaces, the ability to produce customized products, etc.
The output provide the necessary skills to update the software of the machinery, to update the existing automation or to add new hardware, leaving the mechanical parts unchanged and making the machines again or in any case competitive.
In the Platform you will find the following main topics divided by chapters:
Chapter 1- Design and Engineering of simple parts necessary for machinery revamping
Chapter 2 - 3D printing for the production of the parts necessary for the revamping of machinery
Chapter 3 - Open source hardware relevant for machinery revamping
Chapter 4 - Open source software relevant for machinery revamping
Chapter 5 - Design of software interfaces
Chapter 6 - Economic benefits of machinery revamping
Chapter 7 - Social benefits of machinery revamping
Chapter 8 - Environmental benefits of machinery revamping
Chapter 9- Case studies related to the successful modernization of old machinery
Each module was created in Power Point format, contains about 20 slides.
