A series of 11 podcast episodes, where VET students with a refugee or migration background share their experiences and challenges they have faced during the coronavirus pandemic, as well as their individual strategies for motivation in difficult times.
This tool has been developed to aid youth workers in their endeavours to:
1. utilize storytelling and peer learning methodologies to provide relatable role models and offer practical solutions and strategies shared by peers
2. reduce dropout rates among VET students with a migration or refugee background by sharing real personal stories of peers that inspire resilience and perseverance
3. help youth their working with develop competencies related to stress and self-management through focused learning sessions
"Simply Listen to Me" is an Erasmus+-funded podcast series featuring 11 episodes of personal stories from young migrants and refugees in vocational education and training (VET). The series aims to inspire resilience, perseverance, and proactive attitudes among other VET students, especially during difficult times.
Each episode is an open discussion that highlights these students’ experiences and challenges faced during the coronavirus pandemic from a different point of view. In addition to the personal stories, the participants inspire and motivate the audience by presenting their individual strategies for motivation in difficult times, in self-management or in dealing with stress.
Produced collaboratively with local focus groups, the podcast includes learning sessions on self-management, stress coping, resilience, self-motivation, and creative problem-solving. Visual fact sheets accompany each episode, providing further insights. Moreover, transcripts of all episodes are available in English, German, Swedish, Turkish, Slovenian and Spanish.
