To start the creation of the basic common language in the group.
To acknowledge the diversity of concepts within the group.
To empower participants to construct an initial understanding of peace education by defining the concept for themselves, sharing these definitions with others and creating a “statement” that reflects the perceptions of a group.
Taste, produce.

Description of the tool

1. Working individually each participant write his/her definition for PEACE EDUCATION. The statements should demonstrate their own understandings of the concept of peace.

2. Groups of four/six are formed to share and discuss what has been written and to prepare a mutually agreed short statement defining peace education. The statement is written out in large letters on a sheet of flipchart paper.
3. Each group displays its poster and explains its content to the whole group.
