A practical and youth-led guide created during an Erasmus+ youth exchange in Portugal. It offers tools, tips, and reflections to help young people boost their employability, write CVs, prepare for interviews, and join European projects.

Aims of the tool

The aim of this guide is to empower young people to take active steps toward their personal and professional development by helping them identify their competences, reflect on life experiences, and gain practical tools for employability. It supports youth in writing CVs and motivation letters, preparing for job interviews, improving digital skills, and exploring European mobility opportunities such as Erasmus+ and ESC. Created by participants during an Erasmus+ youth exchange, the guide also promotes intercultural learning, self-awareness, and active participation in lifelong learning.

Description of the tool

This practical, youth-friendly toolkit was developed during an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange in Figueira da Foz, Portugal (7–15 May 2025), by young people from Portugal, Latvia, Germany, and Romania. It was created to help peers build confidence and develop essential skills for entering today’s job market.

The tool offers easy-to-follow guidance on recognising personal strengths, transforming everyday experiences into professional assets, and mastering employability essentials such as writing CVs, motivation letters, and preparing for interviews. It also explores key digital tools and platforms to boost online presence and support career development.

Participants are encouraged to reflect on their learning, explore Erasmus+ opportunities, and use resources like Youthpass to document their growth. Real stories and quotes make the content authentic and inspiring.

Key learning outcomes include:

Strengthened self-awareness and reflection skills

Improved communication and teamwork abilities

Greater digital competence using free online tools

Understanding of career planning and job application processes

Familiarity with Erasmus+ opportunities for youth

Enhanced motivation and readiness to act on personal goals

This tool supports both individual learning and group workshops, making it ideal for youth workers, NGOs, and young people at the start of their professional journey.
