A presentation of the aims, learning process and experiential learning method of Outward Bound School. Experiential learning is a method often used in outdoor activities when working with socially vulnerable youngsters.

Description of the tool

The main aims of their training courses are based on the belief that the individuality of each person is founded in a unique combination of personal capabilities, insights and values, which may be developed and clarified through confrontation with real and powerful experiences, and challenging practical tasks. Another core element is that learning and growth occur as a result of the interaction of each individual with his environment and other people, and that such learning is transferable to other situations.

With other words: a unique frame to work with socially vulnerable youngsters, which is an important part of their work.
