The KISS Online Handbook offers essential guidance for visually impaired persons entering the labour market. Available in 4 languages and multiple formats, it covers CV writing, job prep, EU tools, and career options—free on the project’s website.

Aims of the tool

• Promote Inclusive Employment Readiness: Publish accessible online handbooks that guide blind and partially sighted individuals through key steps in entering the labour market, including CV writing, interview preparation, and navigating EU employment tools.
• Support Multiformat Accessibility: Ensure all handbooks—are available in formats suitable for screen readers, audio playback, fostering usability across diverse needs.
• Encourage Cross-Border Collaboration: Facilitate knowledge exchange among European stakeholders to share best practices in digital inclusion and employment support for visually impaired persons.
• Empower Through Self-Learning: Create a virtual space where visually impaired users can independently explore, learn, and build confidence in using technology and preparing for employment.

Description of the tool

This Online Handbook is the first result of the Erasmus+ „Keep it Short and Simple: Introduction to Assistive Technology for Visually Impaired Persons“ project. It is available in English, Croatian, Slovenian and Spanish languages. The KISS Online Handbook contains chapters that combine, in one place, all necessary information, which PWD who are visually impaired need to know when entering the labour market.

The Handbook contains the following chapters:
- introduction – information about the project and partners, as well as the CRPD Convention basis
- statistical data about visually impaired people who are engaged in the labour market, the situation in partner countries in comparison with the statistical data on the EU level
- preparation for entering the labour market: how to write a CV, a motivational letter and prepare yourself for a job interview
- using EU tools for informal education
- a list of traditional and modern jobs which visually impaired people can do
- conclusion

The Online KISS Handbook is available in epub, html, PDF, word and audio formats, free of charge on the official webpage of the project (https://erasmus-assistivetechnology.udrugaslijepih.hr/virtual-resource-platform/). All formats can be downloaded, and the contact details are offered for those who need help and support.
