outcomes, promotional materials, etc.

Aims of the tool

The aim of the booklet is to provide a comprehensive, practical resource on mental health and well-being through nature, combining theory, best practices, and hands-on approaches. It is designed to support youth workers, educators, and young people in understanding mental health, challenging stereotypes, using nature-based activities, and applying digital tools for well-being.

Description of the tool

The booklet is a 34-page practical guide co-created by the participants of the youth exchange. It combines theoretical knowledge, practical exercises, and tested approaches to promote mental health and well-being through nature.

It includes:

Theory of mental health – basics and the Bio-Psycho-Social model.
Stereotypes and stigmas – common misconceptions about mental health and ways to address them.
Digital tools – selected apps and digital resources for supporting mental health.
Nature-based practices – activities and approaches for using the power of nature to improve well-being, including survival skills.
Best practices – experiences and methods shared by participants from their countries.
Survey findings – results of a local survey conducted by participants to explore mental health awareness.
Additional dissemination materials – posters, videos, and resources for further use in educational activities.

Learning outcomes:

By using the booklet, learners will be able to:
Understand mental health concepts, including common stigmas and the Bio-Psycho-Social model.
Apply practical approaches to support personal and others’ mental well-being through nature-based activities.
Identify and use digital tools to monitor and enhance mental health.
Develop skills in planning, facilitating, and evaluating youth activities focused on mental health and sustainability.
Gain intercultural awareness by exploring diverse practices and perspectives from participants’ countries.
Promote eco-friendly and sustainable practices in youth work and personal life.
