Simulation Exercise
Language learning through financial topics using the CLIL approach helps students build both language and financial literacy through gamified, real-life scenarios inspired by the GAMI.FI.RE. lesson plan model (gamifire.eu)
Objectives:
Integrate financial literacy into language learning.
Develop vocabulary and communication skills in authentic contexts.
Foster problem-solving and decision-making through gamified tasks.
Encourage reflection and collaboration using the CLIL framework.
This approach combines language learning with financial education through the CLIL methodology, focusing on meaningful, real-life financial situations. Inspired by the GAMI.FI.RE. project and its lesson plan template, students engage in interactive, game-based activities that simulate budgeting, saving, and financial decision-making. By working on practical challenges, learners use the target language as a tool for communication and critical thinking. The lessons integrate gamification elements such as badges and personas, promoting motivation, autonomy, and active participation while enhancing both linguistic and financial competence.
