An engaging introductory session that introduces participants to the world of robotics, explaining what robots are, how they work, and where they are used in everyday life.
To build a basic understanding of robotics by familiarising participants with fundamental concepts, the history of robotics, and different types of robots and their applications.
This session provides a friendly and accessible introduction to robotics. Participants learn what robotics is and what makes a machine a robot, including key components such as sensors, controllers, and actuators. The session explores the history of robotics, from early mechanical inventions to modern programmable robots, and introduces different types of robots, including industrial, service, medical, and exploration robots. Real-life examples show where robots are used today, including factories, healthcare, education, and homes. Through discussion and visual examples, the activity encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a positive understanding of how robots help people in daily life.
