The HIMIS guidelines are an Open Educational Resources designed to drive teachers and youth leader in the realization of Heritage Interpretation projects within their local communities.

Aims of the tool

The HIMIS guidelines shows how to use heritage interpretation in secondary schools and youth organisations to encourage migrant integration and the multicultural classes management.

Description of the tool

The activities described in the Guideline support the cooperation between schools, youth organisations and local communities. The chapters will illustrate:
- HIMIS introduction and transferability in different contests
- Promotion of European Values and actions for the integration of migrants into the local community
- how to exploit your local heritage to foster european values and media education;
- Preparation of an Heritage Interpretation project;
- Case studies in Anzio (IT), Kerkyra (GR), Waldkirch (DE) e Wrocklaw (PL).
