Growth and Value. MOOC for NGO Leaders
An online course in NGO administration for anyone interested gaining knowledge on the managerial and administrative aspects of founding and managing a youth organisation.
Aims of the tool
The aim of the course is to support current and prospective leaders of youth organisations to acquire skills and information they might be missing and enable them to increase the value they create through their activities. In the long run, we hope this will lead to a wider recognition of the role of youth organisations in social and economic development, both regionally and internationally, and enhance their capacity to help young people in their communities.
Description of the tool
The Course is structured around four main modules:
Module 1: Organisational Management and Strategies
Module 2: Project Management
Module 3: Financial Management and Organisational Administration
Module 4. Non-formal education
Each module is elaborated on through a number of submodules, excluding the module on Non-formal education, which is a standalone module.
At the end of each submodule and module there is a test consisting of 10 questions, which enables the learner to reflect on the learning outcomes.
The content of the Modules is supplied by 21 interviews, conversations and presentations from practitioners from the field.
The Course finalises with a Final Test. Upon completion of the entire course or selected Modules, the learner is awarded a Certificate of Completion.
In addition, the user can find recommendations on a Reading List and a Bibliography.
