2. The group will start working together and communicating.
3. The participants will share their hopes & fears and prepare their learning contract
Opening:
• "Two lines"(10 min): In two lines participants are asked to organize themselves, without talking, by: personal name, name of the colors of the shoes, height, length of feet, etc.
Body:
Part A:
• Hand game (15 min) : dividing into couples - each pax draw his partner's hand and write the name of the person the hand belongs to. Then, they interview one another, each time 3 min:
o Name
o Country
o Job – what is your profession?
o What is your experience in EM?
o Do you have any experience in democratic education?
Part B:
Hopes & fears:
When ever we are about to have a new experience and we are about to meet new people we usually develop (consciously or unconsciously) hopes, fears and expectations. In order to make the "good" things happen and avoid the bad – sharing those thoughts is a good start.
• Personal (10 min) – each pax receives 6 post-its in 2 colors 3 for hopes 3 for fears, and writes his/her hopes & fears regarding: The TC, The group, Myself.
• In groups (25 min):3 flip chart papers divided into 2 parts each are on the walls. Each group will discuss and write down what kind of rules/code of behavior they can create in order to make our hopes come true and keep our fears from coming true? What are the "ground rules" we need to agree upon in order to have the best learning experience?
• In plenary (20 min) – The groups will present their work. The parliament receives the responsibility of writing down an agreement\contract\code of behavior of the group.
Closer: assignment of the group to prepare the contract.
