Aims of the tool
The tool aims to equip youth workers and educators with foresight methods to help young people explore possible futures, build critical thinking, resilience, and agency, and actively shape a sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready society.
Description of the tool
The For Youth Information (FYI) Manual is a practical guide that introduces foresight methodologies for youth work. It offers interactive tools and workshop formats, such as trend exploration, scenario building, backcasting, and future telling, to help young people imagine, analyse, and design their futures. Through participatory and creative learning, it connects foresight thinking with real-world issues like climate action, digitalisation, and social inclusion.
Learning Outcomes:
- Develop futures literacy: understanding trends, signals, and possible scenarios.
- Strengthen critical and creative thinking in addressing uncertainty and change.
- Build strategic planning and problem-solving skills through foresight methods.
