The InterGenic Facilitators' Handbook is a practical guide designed to support youth workers and educators in facilitating intergenerational learning. It provides engaging methods, tools, and activities for intergenerational knowledge exchange.
The aims of the InterGenic Facilitators' Handbook are to:
1. Promote Intergenerational Learning – Strengthen connections between different age groups by fostering mutual learning and cooperation.
2. Equip Facilitators with Practical Tools – Provide interactive methods, activities, and guidance for youth workers and educators to implement effective intergenerational programs.
3. Encourage Inclusion & Knowledge Exchange – Create opportunities for seniors and younger generations to share experiences, skills, and cultural perspectives.
4. Support Lifelong Learning – Highlight the value of continuous learning across generations, ensuring that knowledge and wisdom are transferred and preserved.
5. Improve Social Cohesion – Reduce age-related barriers and encourage meaningful community dialogue and collaboration.
The InterGenic Facilitators' Handbook is an in-depth training resource designed for youth workers, educators, and community leaders facilitating intergenerational learning activities. It offers practical methods, interactive exercises, and structured guidance to promote meaningful exchanges between different age groups. The handbook supports inclusive, lifelong learning, encouraging collaboration between seniors and young people to bridge generational gaps, share knowledge, and develop key social and cognitive skills.
This resource includes step-by-step workshop plans, engagement techniques, digital tools for mentoring, and best practices to create impactful intergenerational learning experiences.

This Facilitators' Handbook can be used flexibly, depending on the training format:

Full training program (1–2 days) – intergenerational learning with guided exercises, digital tools, and reflection sessions.
