To show how similar words in different languages can have different meanings
To raise awareness about the existence of false friends

Description of the tool

Write a different false friend on each post it and stick them to the back of each particpant. The idea is to walk around and explain the words, without saying them, in any way possible e.g. using your own language, mime, explanation, synonyms, opposites. When the person has guessed their word they remove the post-it and continue to help the others find their words.

When everyone has found their word, hand-out the list of all the words used with their correct definition.

Discuss which words were confusing and why.
