> To inspire young refugees by showcasing concrete examples of civic actions carried out by peers across Europe
> To empower young refugees to identify, self-assess and articulate their own skills, both soft skills and know-how
> To build self-confidence and a sense of agency among young refugees
> To encourage young refugees to engage actively in civic and community life
> To provide a practical tool that young people can use independently or with the support of a youth worker

Description of the tool

This brochure was produced as part of the DiverCity Erasmus+ project and is addressed directly to young refugees living in France, Greece, Italy, Spain and Poland. It is structured around three main sections. The first explains the civic rights of refugees across the five partner countries, covering key areas including the right to open associations, volunteer, work, access education and healthcare, participate politically, and access legal protection. The second section, "Civic Actions in Different Countries," presents concrete examples of civic engagement activities carried out by young refugees and local communities across the five countries, including democracy workshops (France), a peer language school and multicultural cooking event (Poland), solidarity volleyball tournaments (Spain), an intersectionality and music workshop (Italy), and team-building sports with unaccompanied minors (Greece). The third section is a self-assessment tool allowing young people to evaluate their soft skills (listening, empathy, creativity, adaptability, emotional management) and know-how skills (public speaking, teamwork, conflict resolution, initiative, critical thinking) across four levels: Beginner, Novice, Regular and Expert. The brochure is designed to empower young refugees, build their self-confidence, and help them recognise and articulate the skills they have developed through their civic engagement.
