A practical Good Practice Manual developed within an Erasmus+ project to support youth workers in teaching critical thinking and media literacy to young migrants through accessible activities and non-formal education methods.

Aims of the tool

The aim of this manual is to provide youth workers, educators and organisations working with young migrants with practical tools to develop critical-thinking skills. It offers activities, methodologies and resources that help participants analyse information, recognise biases and better navigate media and digital environments.

By sharing tested practices and educational approaches, the manual seeks to strengthen the capacity of youth professionals and empower young migrants to become more autonomous, informed and active members of society.

Description of the tool

This Good Practice Manual was produced as part of the Erasmus+ project Critical-Thinking Skills for Young Migrants and gathers practical activities designed for non-formal education contexts. The document provides youth workers with step-by-step exercises, methodological explanations and examples that help participants develop essential skills such as fact-checking, media literacy and the identification of cognitive biases. The activities are organised by levels of complexity, allowing facilitators to adapt them to different audiences and learning environments.

The manual is designed to be accessible and adaptable to the diverse profiles of young migrants. It encourages participatory learning through discussions, group work and interactive exercises. By combining practical tools with pedagogical guidance, the manual supports organisations in promoting critical thinking, strengthening media awareness and encouraging more informed and engaged participation in society.
