Manual
A practical cybersecurity guide for young people co-funded by the EU. It covers essential digital safety topics, including password hygiene, scam prevention, AI ethics, and identifying misinformation to foster confident online behavior.
The primary goal is to promote the responsible and informed use of digital technologies. It aims to shift the online experience from fear to confidence, awareness, and control by providing actionable safety strategies.
The Connecting Minds Handbook is a comprehensive educational resource designed to help young people navigate the evolving digital landscape with confidence, awareness, and control. It defines cybersecurity as a combination of tools, policies, and protective measures used to safeguard the cyber environment and the assets of both users and organizations. By focusing on safety and responsibility, the guide encourages users to move beyond fear and take active control of their digital lives.
The guide provides detailed insights into identifying and responding to modern digital threats, including phishing, sextortion, and "too good to be true" offers on gaming platforms. It emphasizes the importance of acting quickly when harm occurs by talking to trusted adults, saving evidence through screenshots, and using platform tools to block and report harmful behavior. Additionally, it addresses the complexities of AI ethics, teaching users to look for the principles of fairness, accountability, and transparency while learning to spot manipulated content like deepfakes.
