- to give participants a chance to start to get to know each other
- to give participants a possibility to start linking in their background, previous experience etc to the training course

Description of the tool

divide group into a small subgroups based on certain characteristics like: color of the eyes, favorite season, birth month etc and ask them to have a discussion over a question you will present for 5-10 minutes. Then choose another characteristic to divide groups and another question to talk about.
Start with more simple questions (How long did it take for you to travel here? What do you remember from a trip? What have been your previous international experiences?) to the more deeper questions (What have been the most successful project of your organization? What is your motivation to participate in this training course? etc).

! Be aware that the bigger the subgroup are, the more time you should give them to chat.
