The Bootcamp Methodology for Green Skills is aimed at supporting youth workers and trainers in the process of designing non-formal learning activities focused on green entrepreneurship,

Aims of the tool

The objective of the methodology is to support youth workers and trainers in the process of planning and implementing the local boot camps for green skills, mainly aimed at young people from rural areas (including follow-up activities).

Description of the tool

The Bootcamp Methodology for Green Skills is a 12-page document with the following content:
Background (information about the project, objectives of the tool and target groups)
I. A little bit of theory:
- Key principles of Non-formal Learning
- Experiential learning
- The role of emotions in learning
- Green Entrepreneurship - What is it and how to “teach” it?
II. From theory to practice - The Training
- Designing the experience
- Delivery of the activity
- After the activity/Follow-up
A summary mind map presenting the key moments tackled in each topic

The material was created in the framework of the project Green Entrepreneurship and Local Culture: Youth Workers on the Move (RECALL), which is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union (project ref.: 617410-EPP-1-2020-1-BG-EPPKA2-CBY-ACPALA/ Grant agreement 617410 ). The project is a joint initiative of 6 organisations from 6 different countries: Dobrudja Agrarian and Business School (Bulgaria), SFERA International (Republic of North Macedonia), Royal Thimphu College (RTC) (Bhutan), Rural Centre for Human Interests (India), Payap University (PYU) (Thailand) and Centrul pentru Strategii de Dezvoltare a Tineretului (CSDT) (Romania).

This material is designed to be used by youth workers and trainers, working with young people from rural areas, mainly for the promotion of green skills and youth-led green entrepreneurship. However, in a wider context, it can be used by anyone designing non-formal educational programs for young people in the context of the development of rural areas, recognising and valorizing the local culture of the rural communities, sustainable development, circular economy and youth-led green entrepreneurship.
