AccessAbilityToolkit
AccessAbility Toolkit was created under the KA2 project “Paths to Inclusion” provides essential resources for collaborating with young people with disabilities and special needs.
Aims of the tool
It contains practical tools to organize activities for young people with mixed abilities.
It supports youth inclusion processes based on non-formal education methodologies.
It contains methods and tools useful to every youth worker, social worker or teacher who want to organize activity with youngsters with disability.
The final aim is to increase the opportunity reserved to youngsters with disability.
Description of the tool
The first section of the toolkit offers theoretical content on welcoming people with disabilities and using inclusive tools, while the second section presents a collection of non-formal methods for working with
mixed-ability groups.
On the theoretical part you can find the checklist to help you in organizing and setting the activity/mobility/ meeting with the youngsters. Moreover within it you will find a detailed explenation on the things to take in consideration when you plan to organize a residencial mobility with youngsters with disability.
The methods are not 100% adapted to work with youngsters with disability, there aredifferent suggestion on how to approach if we need to modify and adapt the method according to a different targets groups.
The methods are divided by the type of method and activity, They are clastered: Getting to know games, Energizers/icebreakers, Team building activities, Role-playing, Small group work, Debates/discussions, Outdoor activities.
