A novel package involves game-based storytelling utilizing AI
This tool includes tools designed for teaching AI in preschool. However youth trainers/teachers may also benefit this tool. The tool was developed by the consortium members of "Dream, Engage, Act and Re-act 4 the Future” or in short Dear Future project.
Aims of the tool
This novel package involves game-based storytelling approach with the intention of reducing the complexity of the subject.
Description of the tool
The project named “Dream, Engage, Act and Re-act 4 the Future” or in short Dear Future with reference number 2021-2-PL01-KA220-SCH-000048581 officially started on 1st of March 2022. The consortium consists of Agrupamento de Escolas de Barcelos (Portugal), Avrasya Enstitüsü Araştırma ve Geliştirme Limited Şirketi (Türkiye), Základní škola Želiv, okres Pelhřimov (Czechia), Detska gradina "Radost" (Bulgaria) and DJECJI VRTIC VARAZDIN (Croatia) under the coordination of Szkola Podstawowa im Wladyslawa Stanislawa Reymonta w Szczutowie (Poland).
Dear Future aims to foster AI education in preschool era through improving skills and qualifications of teachers, students and educators hence they will be ready to face the challenges that future holds. In order to achieve this goal, the project consortium will create novel, digital and inclusive digital education package for abovementioned target groups. This novel package involves game-based storytelling approach with the intention of reducing the complexity of the subject. Also, it will facilitate the learning process for students.
The project consortium initially developed an exhaustive e-book that approaches AI from various aspects and tries to educate teachers with its rich content. E-book is supported with 20 lesson plans that can be easily applied by teachers in the classroom, as well as games & stories that teachers can use in the class with ease so that can students engage with AI. E-book consists of different chapters ranging from history and future AI to game based interactive storytelling approach. Following the completion of the first phase, partners focused on developing online training course on how to use game-based interactive storytelling approach to teach AI. This course involves explanatory videos, learning & teaching materials as well as assessment materials, worksheets, external activities, games, lesson plans, animations etc. Not only the content is rich, but it is engaging for both teachers and students. All can be found on the project’s e-learning platform.
