To enable participants to understand what a 'seminar' is
To introduce the program

Description of the tool

participants are asked to word storm about what a seminar and what a training are.. the trainers takes note of the words on the flip-chart, then explains the difference between a seminar and a training course. this will both provide a smooth entry into the introduction of the program and to clarify any misunderstandings that might confuse the participants about the nature and the pedagogic approach of the program. this is important as many participants expects a training course program during a seminar.
then the program is introduced. the trainer should put scothes on the wall dedicated to hang up the program beforehands and take print outs of/writes the program elements. the related topics or the methodological approch within the program would be printed on the same colored papers (ie. the elements serving for the topic itself, the elements serving for group dynamics, etc...) before explaining each element the trainer puts it on the wall. the dates and the hours should also be hanged up beforehands. the participants are also provided with the program copies. they can ask clarification or more information about the program elements once the trainer finishes with the explanation.
