Participatory toolkit for youth workers using photography, storytelling, and body-based methods to explore comprehensive sex education with teenagers, fostering dialogue on consent, identity, emotions, and social norms through creative activities.
The tool aims to support youth workers in facilitating open, inclusive, and reflective discussions on comprehensive sex education with teenagers. It introduces participatory methods—such as photography, storytelling, movement, and dialogue—to promote self-awareness, critical thinking, empathy, and understanding of topics like consent, identity, relationships, and social norms.
PhotoVoice is a participatory storytelling approach that uses photography to transform everyday realities into powerful visual narratives. It is designed as a tool for dialogue and learning, specifically focused on Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE).
The toolkit specifies several learning outcomes for participants, particularly youth workers:
- Self-Awareness and Personal Reflection
- Critical Awareness of Social Norms
- Communication and Facilitation Skills
- Empowerment and Social Change
- Knowledge of CSE
- Emotional and Somatic Intelligence
