PATH aims to boost youth participation in hiking associations, creating mutual value: associations gain fresh perspectives and skills, while young people benefit from healthy activities and civic engagement.

Aims of the tool

The Erasmus+ Sport project PATH – Promoting Activism Through Hiking has a clear objective: to engage young people aged 18 to 30 in hiking activities, while at the same time strengthening their participation in associative life and civic engagement.

PATH aims to:
1. Strengthen the communication skills of hiking associations and federations, making them more open and closer to young people.
2. Experiment with co-design in outdoor sports, an innovative methodology that makes young people active participants in the creative and decision-making process.
3. Enhance Long-distance European Trails (E-PATHS), transforming them into spaces for meeting, participation, and sharing through ideas and campaigns conceived and implemented directly by young people.

Description of the tool

The first result is the PATH methodology , a tool (tested at the national and international level) aimed at engaging young people through co-design.

This document outlines the PATH methodology, which includes strategies and resources for engaging young people in sports associations and federations through outdoor sports activities, promoting meaningful and long-term youth involvement.
Our goal is to help hiking (and outdoor) associations create more effective, inclusive, and relevant solutions by ensuring the voices of young people are heard and valued.

The document will be soon available also in IT,LT and ES on the project landing page: www.fiemediacenter.it/path
