Give an overview about Action 1, 2 and 5 of the European YOUTH Programme to young people, youth workers and other actors. Invite participants to talk about their own experiences and share it with others - as a side effect they practice their presentation

Description of the tool

Most groups are not homogenous and some participants are more experienced in certain fields than others. Therefore it is a good idea to share the experience of certain actions in the YOUTH programme with those participants that do not know it very well. Before the session, the facilitator asks some keypersons with different experiences in the YOUTH programme to share their practice and experience. One person could tell his/her story of an Action 1 prject, another person about European Voluntary Service and another participant with some experience in Action 5 can run a group on this topic.
These 3 “experts-practitionners" tell about their experience making sure they answer certain questions such as:
Who can participate – Target group?
What are the eligible activities?
How can people do it- what special provisions are there?
(add your own elements)
The remainder of the group can choose which group to join (or could be split arbitrarily).
The task given to each group is to answer the questions about each action (see above). After approcimately 30 minutes of storytelling and questions and answers, the different sub groups present their answers for the rest of the big group (using flipchart paper or transparencies and overhead projector). Others can ask questions for clarification. The faciliator safeguards that the correct information is transmitted to the group, rectifying misconceptions etc.
