YOU CAN TOO

One of the main concerns across Europe now is the problem of youth unemployment. Since the start of the recession in 2008, the numbers have grown to alarming values across the continent. Currently, the European labor market is suffering alarmingly high rates of youth unemployment, in some countries reaching values of over 35% of youth unemployment, causing hopelessness and lack of confidence among the younger generation, coupled with non-participation and lack of trust in proposed policies and solutions. There is a strong need for a change, for awareness on the gravity of the situation and for a different perspective to a long lasting problem across Europe.
Our project “YOU CAN TOO!“ will involve 42 young people from 7 European countries, that are not aware of their competences and qualifications and who do not possess the proper tools to approach the labor market and become actively involved in their society. Together with our partners, we thought of the importance that such a project can have on the life of young people that face unemployment. In this youth exchange we will work on several “do it yourself” projects, recycling as an art form and different creative workshops, in order to challenge young people to show us their hobbies and to try develop them together, taking it to a new level and turning their passions and hobbies into a viable and achievable professional path. We want to work on a set of skills that every entrepreneur owns and to help young people develop their ideas and put them into business ideas, job opportunities and self-entrepreneurship.
