Association Evolution

The Evolution Association from Resita is a non-profit organization that aims to connect education to labor market needs and to create an infrastructure of social services for categories of people at risk or that suffer from social exclusion. We work closely with people coming from minorities in the area of Resita, such as Roma people, Croatians and Czech. Our objective is to bring all these minorities together in a multicultural and safe environment.
The association started out in 2010 as an association that handled activities for disabled adults consisting of identification, selection and evaluation of potential beneficiaries, also providing training services for „personal assistant for severely disabled person“ or „caretaker for the elderly“. The association, in the beginning was involved in the strategic project "Development of social economy for people with physical disabilities in Romania", financed by the ESF through OSPHRD (Operational Sectoral Programme Human Resources Development). The role of the association was to identify potential beneficiaries for wheelchairs, to support the information campaigns, to promote workshops regarding the importance of adapting to the individual needs of the wheel chair as well as to promote techniques to use in order to increase the independence of people with disabilities.
Since the creation of the volunteer department, the focus and objectives of the association have shifted to also include young people, not only with disabilities, but with fewer opportunities from our community, coming from disadvantaged areas that are suffering from discrimination, young people with less opportunities, to inspire them, to help in their life learning process and to offer guidance when it comes to their future opportunities. By including both categories of ages, young people at the beginning of their professional lives and adults who are searching for a fresh start in their professional careers, we consider that it gives us a unique opportunity to bridge the gaps between generations and to create a relationship based on mentorship between our beneficiaries. Through our activities we try to tackle in an innovative way the problem of equality between different age limits, giving both groups active measures which contribute to the limitation of differences and the development on both personal and professional levels.
On a local level, our activities have been to offer trainings for those who are looking for requalification in the fields of „personal assistant for severely disabled person“ or „caretaker for the elderly“. We also have close partnerships with several associations from our local community, Nevo Parudimos Association, who works closely with Roma people and who fight for equal rights for Roma people, Volunteering for All Association, an organization tailored to promote volunteering in the local community and Pro Vitam Association, a Non-Profit organization who focuses in providing private medical services to people from the community.
