The project aims to train Youth Workers regarding personal and organisational management. 26 Youth Workers will attend the training for a duration of 7 days.
There is a huge demand of qualified Youth Workers in the E.U. in order to work in several organizations, but still there is not a common agreed definition regarding “Youth Workers”. Many higher education institutions began to offer programmes of study regarding Youth Work. All the above state that there is a need to train and guide people that work with or for youth in many fields.
This project aims to train kai guide the participants in the fields of time management, setting priorities, goal setting, personal organisation and organisation management.
The activities that will be implemented during the project are aiming to cultivate and expand participants’ abilities, skills and knowledges at the above mentioned fields. Also, the project aims to provide experience, tools and techniques to participants in those fields.
The results, as well as the impact of the project to the participants will include the cultivation of skills, knowledge and competences regarding the thematic of the project. Also, participants will benefit from new experiences, tools and techniques regarding the thematic of the project, they will learn how to act as a team, how to work in teams and in multicultural environments. All these will make participants more effective and efficient for working in their organisations.
As for participating organisations, they will benefit by having more trained members / youth workers regarding the thematic of the project and this will help them develop and be more effective. Also, the organisations will have the chance to build networks with the other participating organisations, as well as with some local organisations in Cyprus.
Finally, target groups (youth workers) will be directly benefited by the positive impact that the project will bring to the participating organisations and the participants of the project.
The participants of the project will be 26 young persons (youth workers) from 8 different organisations and 8 different E.U. countries. Participants will be young people that work with or for youth either payed or volunteering. The profile of the participants will include (a) active participation in their organisations, (b) active participation in projects for youth, (c) be aged at 22-30 years old, (d) have worked for at least 2 years at their organisations (volunteers or employees), (e) want to be trained and gain knowledge, skills and competences regarding the thematic of the training and (f) have relative experience in non-formal and informal learning.
For the needs of the project, non-formal and informal methodology will be used. This methodology enables the participants to have active participation during the training and they are a more dynamic way of learning. All these will help the project to reach its aims in a more effective way.
