III Millennium Minstrels

11 days youth exchange about Occitan culture: food, dances, language, literature, history, life testimonies, interaction with locals, creation of a public event

III Millennium Minstrels is a 11 days bilateral youth exchange which will take place in Luserna San Giovanni (TO), Italy, from 17th to 27th of April 2014. The project is focused on Occitan culture and the goal is to descover together some common cultural features and to reflect on what we have in common as members of the Occitan cultural area. In the second part of the project the participants will become miltiplier of Occitan culture organizing a public event focused on that topic.
The project will involve 10 younsters and 2 leaders from the south of France and 10 youngsters and 3 leaders from Italy; the project will involve also the local population of Pellice valley, Pinerolo as well as members of organizations related with Occitan culture, with local youngsters, with the local area, communities for people with disabilities and association for cultural promotion. The metod we will use is learning by doing, non-formal education and cooperative learning. We will use outdoor activities, art, theatre and cooking to stimulate creativity autonomy, cooperation with the others and as tools for team building and for the development of new skills and new understandings.
