Defence of Environment, Promotion of Healthy life styles and enrichment of partecipation and active citizenship on main substainable, environmental and ecological issues are the main objectives of our organizations.
Legambiente Prato, is acting at a local level, trying to promote environemental and naturalistic heritage of the territory of Prato by organizing activities for citizenship, families, children and youngsters like excursionism in natural protected areas, summer camps for children, local events to enrich ecological thinking among people: "Clean Up the world" - "Tree-fest" - "Energy Festival"- "Bike mobility events"
Legambiente Prato, is active in school field by promoting environenmental education activities on important issues like: Water - Energy - Substainable Mobility - Waste Managment - Recycling and Creativity-Animal welfare - Natural protected areas.
All the activities carried out so far counts on the collaboration of professionist in the field of Environmental Communication, youth trainers and environemental guides and educators. Local volunteers, Volunteers from italian national service and EVS volunteers in the frame of Erasmus+ actions, enrich the local staff by contribuiting to support our local actions and the growth of the association itself.
Legambiente Prato, is active in the field of International Volunteering by carrying out EVS project that have involved almost 40 volunteers in the last 10 years from all over Europe and Partner Countries. International volunteering workcamps of Legambiente that are held in the province of Prato during the summer are a great tool to rise up international awareness and volunteering empowerment by reinforcing cultural exchange and local heritage as an alternative touristic source.
Legambiente Prato has a multiple-keys approach to rise up the level of interest in local citizenship and administrators on environment - substainable delopment, outdoor naturalistic activities. Our organization also manage a Mountain Shelter which is Entitled as Legambiente Onlus as Environmental education center. The mountain shelter, Rifugio Cascina Le Cave, can be the perfect "learning Environement" where to realize Youth Exchange and Training Course, with experienced trainers in the the field of Non formal education and Environmental education.
