Europe…wood: Europe inside our land

[Europe...wood: Europe inside our land] is a project consisting in 2 APV (Advanced Planning Visit) and 2 Youth Exchanges presented by Legambiente Prato under KA1 Erasmus+ Program. The project will take place in Rifugio Le Cave-mountain hut an environmental education center managed by Legambiente Prato

Legambiente Prato is currently working to find 4 interested partner organizations to join us. Specifically 2 partner organizations from Program Countries willing to join: 1°APV (advanced planning visit) on the 7th of May 2016 (+ 2 days for travels) and then 1° Youth Exchange (1st- 8th August 2016). Other 2 Partners organization from Program Countries are expected to join: 2° APV (advanced planning visit) on the 28th of May 2016 (+ 2 days for travels) and then the 2° Youth Exchange (22nd- 29th August 2016)

Requirements for Partner organisations (that has to be highlighted while you’re applicating)

The organisation should belong to:

Program Countries (for both Youth Exchange n°1 and n°2)
Be registered in ECAS Portal or have PIC Number
Deal in at least one of the following topics:
1. Environment and climate change
2. Youth participation and EU citizenship/awareness

Desirable (but not compulsory) experience in the field of non formal education activities with youngsters, citizenship, children and students.

Especially welcome are the organizations the work with young people in marginal/geographical situations: rural communities (i.e small villages/municipalities in mountains).

Requirements for participants

We are looking for:

7 participants (14-18 y.o.) from each partner organisation (+ one adult group leader) for Youth Exchange n°1
7 participants (19-24 y.o.) from each partner organisation (+ one adult group leader) for Youth Exchange n°2
A basic knowledge of English Language
motivated candidates willing to share, meet new cultures, have fun in a healthy way
participants willing to adapt to the natural environment (life in mountain hut, hiking)

NOTE: Every participant is willing to acquire new competences, gain new perspectives, be open to mutual exchange. These Youth Exchanges are a first step to become involved in volunteerism and active citizenship.

Content and Method used in the Youth Exchange

Some of the contents of 1° Youth Exchange are:

Social Mapping of a small communities
History Voyage through trees and nature
Dinner at the time of grandparents
History of Europe in the wood
Treasure hunt

Some of the contents of 2° Youth Exchange are:

Practice of Science Citizenship to observe Biodiversity
Environmental Monitoring of Air and Water Pollution
Energy savings in everyday life
Climate Change and Europe Policy
Defending natural Area with European Policy

Non formal methods

Ice-breaking games, group-building activities, cooperative learning, outdoor activities, working in groups, simulations, role-playing

Objectives

The 2 Youth Exchanges aim to involve young people that are expected to overcome the lack of confidence and reinforce their self-trust in order to shed lights to achieve learning goals through volunteerism, mobility activities and so on.

Youth Exchanges will take place only if Italian National Agency will approve and fund the projects.

Economic conditions

Accommodation costs are covered by Erasmus+ program. Travel costs will be supported according Erasmus+ distance calculator provided below: http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm

We will ask a contribution of 50 euros per participant (no group-leaders) belonging to foreign countries' partners and 100 euros for italian participants. The contribution can be partially deducted (max 10% of the individual travel grant) off from the quote for travels in case the participant will spend less then the amount indicated.
