Kildare Youth Theatre

Training for performance and nurturing core acting skills is high on the company’s agenda. We see KYT as providing a vocational training resource for young people that is not met in the schools, and that is difficult to access at third level.
Apart from providing a detailed introduction to performance skills, we also help young people to source agents, to find further training at third level, and to perform audition pieces with confidence.
We have been involved in youth theatre exchanges involving Italy and Scotland and use theatre as a medium through which to explore socio-political issues and as a way for teenagers and young adults to make sense of issues which affect them.
Kildare Youth Theatre provides drama-based developmental workshops.
