Association of Anatolian Young Educators

Anatolian Young Educators is a Non-Profit, Non-Governmental Organization is located in Turkey and its main aim is to touch the hearts of the youngsters at different age groups and from various backgrounds with informal teaching and learning methods. As it is understood from the name of the association, most of the members are teachers at schools from primary to high schools so we all are in close contact with the youngsters who go on their formal educations or leave the school before its usual time. University students and also even the youngsters who don’t attend any formal educational instittution are among the target group of the association. In Turkey especially in the frame of youth works there is a big gap between the youngsters and the youth workers and relevant skateholders. As an association we aim to create a youth policy at local, national and international level refering to priorities and objectives of European Commission 2020 Strategies on Youth such as digital competences, learning to learn, social and civic competence, cultural awareness and expression, sense of initiative and entrepreneurship and communication in multiple foreign languages.
Under the shelter of the association we aim;
- To improve quality of life of children and youth through professional and volunteer work with promotion of taking responsibilities and being active citizenships
- To promote informal education, voluntarism in order to prevent unwanted forms of behaviors (delinquency, drug addiction…) developing of healthy ways of living among Youth…
- To promote multiculturalism and peace, and especially, engaging the youngsters into international projects and activities,
- To promote active citizenship, solidarity, tolerance and understanding between cultures,
- To involve the young people in non-formal education on a variety of topics; through organization of national and international projects, workshops, seminars, training courses, camps, volunteer actions, festivals and other activities.
- To promote and implement the principles of non-formal education, learning-by-experience and intercultural learning in order to support the active citizenship and creativity of youngsters in the society,
- to Offer opportunities to youngsters to develop their skills and attitudes and to promote active participation in local, national and international level,
- To support permanent and periodic activities of the youth in the following fields: sports, culture, non formal education, European projects, health prevention, human rights, environment and volunteering
- To improve employability of young people and involve youth in employement policies.
- To create a youth policy which aims to compensate young people having economic, educational, social, physical and geographical obstacles with the help of activities in the fields of education, art, music, theatre, sports and other social projects
- To promote social integration of youngsters by taking responsibilities, and active participation tot he social events,
- To improve the transversial skills of youngsters such as critical thinking, creativity, initiative, problem solving, risk assessment, decision taking, communication and constructive management of feelings and the transperancy of these skills by using certificates namely youthpass, ECVET, etc.
- To create new approaches relevant to the Early Childhood Education and raising awareness about this topic among the parents and the educators.
