Use of New Technologies in Improving the Quality of Youth Work and Safer Internet UNETECH-SINT 2013

Training Course

1-7 December 2013 | Ankara, Türkiye

This training course covers contributors in youth work. It will inform them about the use of new technologies and ways to utilize social tools to increase efficiency. Meanwhile, safety is a concern, too. You need to be in non-profit youth work to apply.
TRAINING COURSE (TC) DESCRIPTION First of all, let us raise some questions,  -Do our youth workers and target groups know the most recent about social media specifically for youth work? -We have seen lots of smart phones, but then, did you hear about the new “smart classses” / “smart training rooms” –still all non-formal  :) -Can we be more eco-friendly, and still be present in all of our meetings? Using earth’s resources –versus—using online resources -How can I turn local impact into efficient youth work? -What is hate speech, really? -How can online EuroDesk help? -Can disabled be as much mobile as peers using technology in youth work? -What are the priorities of the programme, so I can get more chances of acceptance in my submitted project? -Last but not least, an opportunity to see the Capital city, Ankara, Would you like a chance to interact with locals in Ankara? The proposed training course aims to provide ideas and skills for using new technologies, mainly in communication and infor-matics, to improve the quality of the work carried out by their organizations and, increasing the awareness of the safer internet for the youth workers. This TC is actually for individuals in non-profit areas: it is for Youth workers, Youth leaders, Coaches (in non-profit Youth), Project Coordinators/Project Managers (not Academics), Junior trainers, and non-profit Mentors who are working/volunteering in small to mid-size youth organizations. For the youth organizations, during stages of capacity building, utilizing internet and safer social media also give way to an eco-friendly and cost efficient life style and work style. This causes understanding how we can save our world by using renewable energy resources, and other relevant means. Meanwhile, the new technologies allow organizations to improve and increase the inclusion of young people and also young people with disabilities. Already, there have been several successful initiatives and projects that used computers and internet to include young people with disabilities. In terms of networking, the training will offer knowledge and skills on using the internet safer.
