Youth for Rivers

The training activity took place
in Aghveran, Armenia
organised by Balta Daba
6-12 Oct 2013

Aims & objectives

The aim was to equip participants with practical tools and knowledge to be able to contribute to the development and improvement of European river systems.
The origins of the project lie in the concerns of Youth and Environment Europe (YEE) members about the state of the environment - particularly about the state of rivers. This concern lead to an interest in getting more knowledge and skills for properly addressing those issues.
The training successfully achieved its goals.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Young people actively involved in their organisation. Countries: Armenia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Moldova, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Spain, United Kingdom, Ukraine.

Training methods used & main activities

Non-formal education: field visits, common actions, sharing of knowledge and experience to become multipliers in their own organisations.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants gained knowledge and skills related to river restoration techniques, projects and networks.
The positive feedback given by participants daily after their reflection group sessions as well as in the final evaluation form tells us that the training course was a success and met its objectives.
