YASP 2025 set out to equip participants with the competences to become multipliers in their communities by focusing on leadership, advocacy, and youth participation. The training addressed the need for young people to gain not only technical project skills but also confidence in representing youth voices on international platforms. It was closely aligned with the organisations’ objectives of creating long-term structures for German–Turkish cooperation and empowering youth to actively contribute to democratic life.
The activity targeted youth leaders, activists, and youth workers who were motivated to take on responsibility in international projects and networks. Participants represented a wide range of cultural, educational, and social backgrounds from Türkiye and Germany, creating an international environment that encouraged cross-border collaboration and mutual understanding.
The program used non-formal, experiential learning methods designed to maximize participation and creativity. Methods included future scenario building, debates and simulations on policy-making, and interactive strategy workshops. Participants also engaged in peer learning circles, open-space sessions, and creative problem-solving activities that supported them in developing concrete follow-up initiatives.
YASP 2025 resulted in stronger networks between German and Turkish youth, several joint initiatives prepared by participants, and a clearer roadmap for long-term cooperation. Its success was evident from the active involvement during the sessions, the quality of project concepts developed, and the motivation participants expressed to stay engaged afterwards. Follow-up projects and alumni activities further demonstrated its impact.

In YASP 2025, I served as a full-time trainer and manager of the overall activity. I co-led the design of the educational concept, facilitated sessions on leadership and advocacy, and coordinated the trainers’ team to ensure smooth implementation. I also supported participants throughout the process, provided guidance during project development, and oversaw the integration of logistics and educational goals into one coherent program.
I can confirm that Refik took part in the project as described above. He demonstrated his incredible reliability, interpersonal skills and dedication to all the roles he undertook. I would highly recommend him as a trainer.
